Welcome to my blog for The Hudson On Adams Hill

The Americana at Brand Now Opened- Just 5 minutes Away!

By now most of you have heard about the opening of The Americana At Brand (otherwise known as TAAB) and I was able to finally spend an afternoon over there- I'll be reporting back soon. By the way, The Hudson is just 5 minutes away!

A couple other worthy blogs heading your way- seems Glendale has some of the finest wine bars in LA, so I started hitting a few, and while enjoying the Ercavio from Spain at The Red Carpet, I've been inspired to start a new category called "Wine and Dine." this should help you engage in some of the cool social stuff going on in the area, and find some of our local restaurants. Keep in mind I might venture outside of the greater Glendale area for eateries, but I have my faves and they are definitely worth a mention.

Finally, we are approaching our Adams Square Annual Street Fair (mid- June). Half a block up the street, the roads are closed off for food, fun, beer gardens, bands, rides- a cornucopia of delights! Stay tuned...

Those Quirky, Crazy Things about Glendale

By now you probably know (from my blog of course!) that you buy your fresh caught seafood at the mall, get farm fresh eggs at the local hardware store, and if you want a really great duplicate key made that works first time, everytime, then you pay a visit to Serj at Tatev’s Alterations.

keys4.jpgActually, I’ve made no mention of Serj yet. He’s the purveyor of fine alterations- wedding gowns, prom dresses, leather jackets…you name it. But he also makes the best keys this side of the Mississippi. And he’s right across the street from our mini-park, ½ a block up the street.

keys2.jpgI can’t really tell you exactly what he charges for a key, the price seems to change with his mood. But he’s always in a good mood and whatever you have jingling in your pocket will usually do. Now here’s the important part. When you first go into the shop, Serj more than likely won’t be around. You have to peek into the back and wake him up. He’s got his fave couch back there, and back there is where he enjoys his naps. Hey, I gotta give the guy credit- does your job have a couch in the back where you can take naps? The way I see it, this is just more character and diversity we get to enjoy at Adams Hill.
